BluePoint Planning, in partnership with Integral Consulting, is helping to support the County of Santa Cruz in updating their Local Coastal Program (LCP) which will guide future decisions about land uses, development, coastal access, recreation and natural resources to build resiliency along the County’s roughly 32 miles of coastal zone shoreline. This LCP will produce a comprehensive vulnerability assessment of existing and future coastal wave and erosion hazards impacts to the built infrastructure and properties as well as to coastal recreational and habitat resources, such as beaches, surf breaks and coastal access. The future of both the built and coastal resources depend on how we cope or adapt to these future coastal hazards. BluePoint is working to ensure this process is grounded in a community-lived experience by working closely with the County, community, and interested parties.
